Frequently asked questions
What is BarTender Automation?
BarTender Automation connects label printing to your business systems, so labels print automatically from your ERP, WMS or other business application. It is for small and mid-size businesses that want automatic printing from an external system. It includes everything in BarTender Professional.
How does automatic printing work in BarTender Automation?
Users issue the print instruction from their ERP or WMS, for example Oracle or SAP, and BarTender receives the data and prints. Production and labeling use a single source of data, which keeps labels consistent and reduces errors.
Can BarTender Automation print weights from a scale?
Yes. BarTender Automation can connect to weighing scales to capture the weight of an item and print it on the label automatically.
How much print history does BarTender Automation keep?
BarTender Automation stores up to 7 days of print history for reprints and audits. If you need a longer record, or tracking of label design changes, BarTender Enterprise is the edition for that.
How is BarTender Automation licensed?
BarTender Automation is licensed by printer count: 2, 5, 10 or 20 printers. You can install BarTender on any number of computers on a common network, up to the licensed number of printers. Add-on printer licenses add one printer at a time.
How do I add a printer to my BarTender Automation subscription?
Buy the BarTender Automation add-on printer license (BTA-PRT-SUB). Each one adds one printer to an existing BarTender Automation application subscription. Choose the term that matches your application subscription.
What subscription terms are available for BarTender Automation?
BarTender Automation subscriptions come in 1-year, 3-year and 5-year terms, paid upfront for the full term.
