Frequently asked questions
What is BarTender Enterprise?
BarTender Enterprise is the most complete BarTender edition, with central control, security and audit features for regulated and multi-site labeling. It includes everything in BarTender Automation and suits small to large businesses.
Does BarTender Enterprise track label design changes?
Yes. Template revision control keeps previous versions of a label, lets you revert to an earlier version, and keeps an audit trail of who changed what and when. Full logging and reports support compliance review.
Does BarTender Enterprise work with Windows Active Directory?
Yes. BarTender Enterprise uses Windows Active Directory for user management, so you can control who can access which BarTender applications, assign admin roles and set up approval workflows.
Do I need Enterprise if my labels are printed manually?
Possibly. A business that must manage label printing in a secure environment may need BarTender Enterprise for its security and central management features alone, even if users print labels manually.
Can BarTender Enterprise manage labeling across multiple sites?
Yes. Enterprise centrally manages printers, licenses and labeling across sites. On-premises BarTender needs a single network linking all sites.
How is BarTender Enterprise licensed?
BarTender Enterprise is licensed by printer count: 3, 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 printers. You can install BarTender on any number of computers on a common network, up to the licensed number of printers. Add-on printer licenses add one printer at a time.
How do I add a printer to my BarTender Enterprise subscription?
Buy the BarTender Enterprise add-on printer license (BTE-PRT-SUB). Each one adds one printer to an existing BarTender Enterprise application subscription. Choose the term that matches your application subscription.
What subscription terms are available for BarTender Enterprise?
BarTender Enterprise subscriptions come in 1-year, 3-year and 5-year terms, paid upfront for the full term.
What support comes with a BarTender Enterprise subscription?
Standard Maintenance and Support is included for the full term. It covers free software updates, live phone and chat support during business hours, email and web-form support, the knowledge base and community forum, and licensing and activation assistance.
How is BarTender Enterprise delivered and what does it run on?
Delivery is electronic. Your license key and activation instructions are emailed after purchase, and you download BarTender from the Seagull download center. Nothing ships. BarTender Enterprise is on-premises software for Windows that you install and manage on your own computers or servers.
