Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the ZD411d and ZD411t?

The ZD411d is direct thermal only, so it needs no ribbon. The ZD411t prints thermal transfer with a 74 m ribbon, or direct thermal without one.

What is the difference between the ZD411 and ZD611?

Both are 2-inch printers. The ZD611 prints faster (8 in/s at 203 dpi versus 6 in/s), has Ethernet standard, and the thermal transfer model adds a 4.3 in color touch display and a media dancer.

What label sizes fit?

Media from 0.585 to 2.36 in wide and 0.25 to 39 in long, such as 2 x 1 in and 2.25 x 1.25 in labels. It prints up to 2.2 in wide at 203 dpi.

What roll size and core fit?

Rolls up to 5 in outer diameter on 0.5 in or 1 in cores, and 1.5, 2 or 3 in cores with optional adapters.

What connectivity does it have?

Every ZD411 has USB 2.0 and USB Host, plus Bluetooth LE for the Zebra setup app. Ethernet, Serial and dual-radio Wi-Fi with Bluetooth are available by model or as field-installable kits. Wireless models on this page ship with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) + Bluetooth 5.3 or Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) + Bluetooth 4.1.

What ribbons does it take?

74 m (243 ft) ribbons on 0.5 in cores, 1.3 to 2.24 in wide.

Can it run on battery?

Yes. An optional battery powers a full shift at maximum print speed, so the printer can go on a cart to the point of use.

What warranty does it have?

Zebra warrants ZD400 Series printers for 2 years from shipment. Zebra OneCare plans extend coverage.

What print resolutions does the Zebra ZD411t come in?

The Zebra ZD411t comes in 203 dpi and 300 dpi. This page lists the 203 dpi models. See Zebra ZD411t — 300 dpi Models.

Should I choose 203 dpi or 300 dpi?

203 dpi (8 dots/mm) is the standard for shipping labels, barcodes and most product labels. 300 dpi (12 dots/mm) prints sharper small text, small barcodes, 2D codes and logos, so it suits small labels such as electronics, healthcare and jewelry labels. 600 dpi (24 dots/mm) is for very small, high-detail labels.
