Frequently asked questions

What RFID tags can the ZT620R encode?

UHF tags compatible with EPC Gen 2 V2.1, ISO/IEC 18000-63 and RAIN RFID. Adaptive encoding picks the best encode settings, so there are no complex placement guidelines.

Can I add RFID to a standard ZT620 later?

Yes. The integrated RFID system is user-upgradeable in the field on both the 4 in ZT610 and 6 in ZT620.

What is the difference between the ZT610 and ZT620?

The ZT610 prints up to 4.09 in wide at up to 14 in/s and offers 600 dpi. The ZT620 prints up to 6.6 in wide at up to 12 in/s, in 203 or 300 dpi, for wider labels.

How does the ZT600 Series compare with the ZT400 Series?

The ZT600 Series is Zebra's high-performance line for 24/7 industrial use: an all-metal design built for harsh conditions, Gigabit Ethernet, 1 GB RAM and 2 GB flash. The ZT400 Series is the mid-range option.

What label sizes fit?

Media 2.00–7.0 in wide, printed up to 6.6 in wide, with continuous printing up to 100 in at 300 dpi.

What roll and ribbon sizes fit?

Label rolls up to 8 in outer diameter on 3 in cores, and 1,476 ft (450 m) ribbons on 1 in cores, 2.00–6.85 in wide.

What connectivity does it have?

USB 2.0, RS-232 Serial, Gigabit Ethernet, USB Host and Bluetooth come standard. Two open slots take a dual-band Wi-Fi card with Bluetooth, parallel, a second Ethernet port or an applicator interface.

What warranty does it have?

Zebra warrants the ZT620R against defects in workmanship and materials for 1 year from shipment. Zebra OneCare plans extend coverage and can add printheads, normal wear and accidental breakage.

What print resolutions does the Zebra ZT620R come in?

The Zebra ZT620R comes in 203 dpi and 300 dpi. This page lists the 300 dpi models. See Zebra ZT620R — 203 dpi Models.

Should I choose 203 dpi or 300 dpi?

203 dpi (8 dots/mm) is the standard for shipping labels, barcodes and most product labels. 300 dpi (12 dots/mm) prints sharper small text, small barcodes, 2D codes and logos, so it suits small labels such as electronics, healthcare and jewelry labels. 600 dpi (24 dots/mm) is for very small, high-detail labels.
